Santa Fe - A Welcoming Summer Greets You

We are happy to report that the Las Conchas fire, which made national news as it moved near Las Alamos Labs, is almost contained. We are grateful to all the men and women who worked tirelessly to contain the fire. The official statement is: Most of the Las Conchas Fire is contained and is in patrol status. In many areas, rehabilitation work has begun to reduce the erosion potential on exposed soils. Santa Fe has not been affected by smoke for several weeks.
What we call the monsoon season has begun, when the weather brings in scattered afternoon rains. July and August are the months when the Santa Fe skies are the most beautiful with billowing white clouds over the mountains and the occasional rainbow. All the summer activities are in full tilt. From the Opera, to the Artist Markets and Music on the Plaza to name a few; our summer visitors are enjoying themselves as always.
July 30-31 is the Traditional Spanish Market, August 20-21 is the Santa Fe Indian market and in between every weekend their are exhibits, arts and crafts shows and antique shows. Always something happening here. Hope to see you soon.
