Spring Festival and Children's Fair
Santa Fe's own living history village, now it it's 301st year is holding it's annual Spring Festival and Children's Fair, June 4 and 5, 2011. El Rancho de las Golondrinas is a living lesson in the Southwest's historic past. There are buildings of the 18th and 19th centuries, examples of the lifestyle of the Spanish colonial and New Mexico Territorial eras as well as demonstrations throughout the day of trades such as blacksmithing, corn grinding and more.
The Festival schedule includes sheep shearing demonstrations, wagon rides, visits with adorable mini horses, face painting and a magic show for children of all ages. The Sociedad Colonial Espanol de Santa Fe will present music and traditional dance.
