If you are traveling to Santa Fe you will want to consider booking an event at The Lensic Theatre. Just a short walk down Don Gaspar Ave to the Plaza... then left on San Francisco Street - the Lensic hosts an array of music, theatre and cultural events all year.
Pink Martini returned to the Lensic Theater last evening to a full house, featuring selection from their diverse repetoire. Upon entrance, there was an energy in the theater, as audience members prepared to be serenaded to genre defying tunes in Italian, English, French, Japanese, Neopolitan, Japanese, Portugeuse, and Turkish. A spirited blend of jazz, salsa, mambo, lounge, and ballad, the music was equally as pasisonate as the performers themselves. Selections included popular somgs from Pink Martini's three released albums with a sneak peak at theeir upcoming fourth and fifth albums. The Lensic will be featuring a number of headliners in the next couple of months, including an evening of banjo with Steve Martin. For those that have never attended a performance at the Lensic, it is a wonderful discovery. The intimate setting and quality of talent featured make the Lensic an experience in the style of Santa Fe and a reason to come back again and again.
