Santa Fe Desert Chorale, Holiday Music
Guests of the Don Gaspar Inn find that Santa Fe offers something special in all seasons. Those who visit during the holidays come to enjoy the rich traditions and performances offered in Santa Fe. For twenty seven years The Desert Chorale, one of the premier professional chamber choirs in the United States, has been a local favorite holiday experience. Each summer, and again during the December holiday season, The Desert Chorale comes to Santa Fe to perform traditional choral works with a wide ranging program for all. This year's Winter Festival will be held in Santa Fe December 13-19, offering three themed performances. The festival program will include Condar Susa's "Carols and Lullabies: Christmas in the Southwest", a set of 11 spanish carols for chorus, harp, marimba and guitar, conlcuding with festive holiday selections for a cappella choir and a candlelight racessional to "Silent Night." Perfomance dates for Carols and Lullabies are December 18th, 21st, 20th, and 22nd. A Chanukah Celebration with music composed for the Festival of Lights will be featured On December 13th and 15th. On December 19th, A Family Holiday Christmas is a winter tradition for the whole family with popular carols and songs performed by the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, the Desert Chorale Children's Choir and local area school choirs.
